It’s About Time

I know this isn’t a traditional post, but this rehearsal report was sent to me recently by Helen K. and it was too good not to share:

Special Guest While Rehearsing

Hi Lesly,

I thought you might get a kick out this story…

I’m in Tyler’s Wednesday clinic and I hosted a rehearsal today.

We were working on BOOMTOWN and about an hour into rehearsal, we hear a LOUD knock on my door.  We weren’t expecting anyone to show up that late but I thought, “Hey, maybe someone wanted to join us late.” So we promptly stop, open the door, and lo and behold, there were two cops standing at my front door.  They immediately see us with our scripts in our hands and the first thing they ask is, “Are you guys rehearsing?” So we answer, “Yes, we’re actors.”  Long story short –  MY NEIGHBOR CALLED THE COPS ON US because she thought something bad was happening in my unit.  Probably all the loud, “Drop the mic!  Get out or I’ll kill you both!” scared the shit out of her.  Hahahaha.  The cops gave us a warning about how we should let our neighbors know if we’re rehearsing, especially since it’s serious material, but had a good laugh with us and told us that we must be good actors if we convinced our neighbor with all the shouting.

I immediately went around to my immediate neighbors and apologized for the loud noise and asked not to call the cops again for the following two hours. Ha!
