1.

Actress has high profile job hosting.

Does said job for a few years.

Enjoys it.

Is very successful.

Has LOTS of fans.

Zillions of followers.

Lots of teenaged boys in love with her.

But really wants to act.

Doesn’t really have time to do both though.

Is kinda sad.

2.

Higher profile, higher paying, bigger deal job hosting same show becomes available.

Actress wants it even though she knows it would put her further away from said aforementioned acting career.

Is basically promised the job by higher ups.

Fans are really excited.

So’s she.

3.

Higher ups give higher profile, higher paying, bigger deal job to complete nobody with no knowledge of subject matter of show.

Actress is very sad.

And kinda embarrassed.

Still really wants to act.

Still doesn’t have time to do both though.

4.

Actress gets additional hosting job on new show.

This lessens sting of not getting higher profile, higher paying, bigger deal job.

Additional hosting job on new show proves to be a HUGE FREAKING DEAL.

Actress is now wildly successful and thrilled.

Still wants to act but isn’t as bothered because she’s SO successful as a host.

5.

Actress’ first hosting contract is not renewed.

Actress is ok with it because she now has the new HUGE FREAKING DEAL job.

6.

Actress is unceremoniously fired from HUGE FREAKING DEAL hosting job.

She is told she will be replaced by a big star.

Actress is devastated and totally unemployed.

She writes:

“ . . . within a week, I have lost BOTH of my paying gigs. Needless to say, I’m freaking out. And crying. A lot. I think I know in the back of my mind that this is the sign I need to focus solely on my acting, but still…I’m really scared right now.”

7.

Actress gets lots of support:

“. . . Remember – you don’t WANT to host. You want to act. This seems like the universe doing for you what you have refused to do for yourself. And while I TOTES understand the financial fear, this IS what you really WANT. Is there any chance you could embrace it? Go for your dream. Do it now. The universe isn’t really giving you a choice. So enjoy it. Ok? All my love and congratulations – YES! Congratulations and going for your DREAM! – LK”

“. . . You are loved & we are here for you. At the risk of sounding, “When a door closes, another window opens” — know that BIG things are coming your way. This is just the universe’s way of forcing you out of one situation to get you ready for what you’re truly meant to be doing. I am here to listen and be a shoulder to cry on. I have no doubt that the tides will turn and something brilliant is just around the corner for you. – G”

“ . . . We are all kinda freaking for you. This is a huge nightmare and you don’t deserve it at all. But the fact is that it IS what you want – you have always wanted to ACT, not HOST. I guess sometimes the universe does for us what we’re way too scared to do for ourselves. Damnit. – L”

8.

Actress’ acting teacher hears about fabulous new hosting opportunity.

Actress’ acting teacher asks actress if she wants to be submitted for it.

Actress says,

“Thanks but I’m going to pass. Taking on another hosting gig with an every day commitment would defeat the purpose of my focus on acting now. :)”

9.
Actress auditions for fabulous web series produced by Marc Webb (SPIDERMAN, 500 DAYS OF SUMMER – http://pro.imdb.com/name/nm1989536/).

Actress is called back for another role.

A male role.

She tests for it.

10.

She books it.

Actress writes,

“I can’t tell you how excited I am!!! I mean, I knew a window was going to open up somewhere, but I did NOT expect it to be this soon or on something so cool!! YAY!!!!!”

Hmmm. What’s the moral of this story?
